Our Process
Smicksburg Community Cheese
is located just north of the quaint town of Smicksburg, PA on State Route 954.
We accept fresh can milk from our local Amish milk producers. The milk for the cheese comes from a network of Amish farmers in the northern part of Indiana County spreading into Armstrong County, which largely attracts tourism to the area.
The milk is retrieved in 10-gallon metal canisters from the farmers, about 80,000 pounds of milk a week, which is processed into cheese and aged accordingly to the kind of cheese we are making. Once cured and aged it is cut into smaller blocks and sold in our store and stores throughout the surrounding communities.
We would love to have you visit us and sample our cheese. We are confident that you will discover a new flavor that piques your interest.
If you are interested in carrying our cheese in your store please contact us so arrangemants may be made.
Thanks for visiting our site!
Ed and Bobbi Jo
Our new business gets more exciting every week. Just like the cheese we age, our store gets better with age as we add on and complete projects that were once dreams and visions.
